Description

Join us for this rare ‘Hollywood at Hearst Castle’ fundraiser swim in the luxurious Neptune pool, once appreciated by the likes of Joan Crawford, Howard Hughes and Charlie Chaplin.

Host Committee Nigel Lythgoe (Executive Producer of American Idol and Creator of So You Think You Can Dance), June Diane Raphael (actor Grace and Frankie, Burning Love) Paul Scheer (actor Black Monday, The League) and Richard Wolffe (General Manager of José Andrés Media and columnist for The Guardian), with Co-Chairwomen and Foundation Board Members Gail Cayetano and Pilaar Terry, cordially invite you to this special media and entertainment industry evening.

This event is open to Members of The Foundation at Hearst Castle and guests. *Limited tickets are available.*

Reminiscent of the old Hollywood gatherings hosted by William Randolph Hearst himself, you will begin your experience with a scenic ride up to the Enchanted Hill. Then, head to historic dressing rooms and pick up a cabana towel in preparation to swim in the iconic Neptune Pool. Splash around or stroll spectacular surrounding terraces, and take in the sunset view and jazzy tunes. Satiate your palate with a curated selection of savory and sweet treats, and the Central Coast’s exceptional wines and craft beer. Depart with memories of a lifetime.

Constructed in three versions between 1924 and 1936, the Neptune Pool at Hearst Castle is 104 feet long, 58 feet wide, and 95 feet wide at the alcove. It is 3.5 feet deep at the west end, 10 feet at the drains, and holds 345,000 gallons of water. Other notable aspects of the Neptune Pool include: the (defunct) oil-burning heating system; the Vermont marble that lines the basin, gutters, and alcove; and gigantic marble Art Deco sculptural groups of Venus, cupids, and mermaids frolicking in the water.

Funds raised from this evening will benefit the Foundation at Hearst Castle’s STEAM programs serving youth from underserved communities in California.
